Acadia National Park

I recently returned from a family vacation to the coast of Maine. This was my third visit to that area and it's rapidly becoming one of my all-time favorite places to go. The town of Bar Harbor has an amazing charm and Acadia National Park is simply breathtaking.

This might be my favorite shot of the whole trip. Sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain.

Taken about an hour later from ocean level. The clouds are incredible!

A beautiful view of the rocky coast along Park Loop Road.

The next two shots are of the magical Jordan Pond.

This is one of my favorite spots in the entire park. Near the summit of the fantastic Gorham Mountain hike is this natural rock bench for you to sit on. The panoramic view of the ocean is fabulous. Just be careful of the sheer cliff five feet in front of you!

This "friendly" fellow tried to steal my lunch!

The view of Bar Harbor from Bar Island.

Sunset view from Cadillac Mountain.

The next two shots are from another amazing sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. This is the reward for getting up at 4:30am!

I love the intense pre-sunrise colors!

Pounding surf on the Schoodic Peninsula.
